New York Yacht Club

Harbour Court, Newport, RI

GENERAL FORMAT
An elite women’s match racing clinic and Grade 3 regatta focusing on U.S. women’s match racers aiming to represent the U.S. in the 2012 and future Olympics.  Clinic sessions and racing will be scheduled during the week.

NYYC is working with US SAILING to select the top sailors, coaches and umpires to participate in this unique training event.  The regatta results will be used for qualifying U.S. teams for both the Skandia Sail for Gold in Weymouth, the Sail Melbourne Regatta and a possible wildcard entry into the ISAF Women's Match Racing Worlds held at NYYC in September.

Sonars will be used with a crew of 4.  Max. weight is 272 kg.

Entry is by invitation.  One or more invitation will be given to young up and coming teams.  Women skippers interested in receiving an invitation should submit a cover letter, resume and information on potential team members to dellenbaugh@nyyc.org.

High school and college women sailors are also invited to sit in on chalk talks and debriefs and observe on the water as space is available.  If interested, please send an email to sailingoffice@nyyc.org and let us know what days you are interested in attending.
