'Worthy of the Sea' -- Club Night

L-R, Maynard Bray, Queene Hooper Foster and Tom Jackson. Foster sailed her then 40-year-old K. Aage Nielsen-designed Saphaedra transatlantic for the America's Cup Jubilee in 2001. She wrote then in the Club's magazine (Fall 2001), "The wooden hull, that I have rowed around, swam around, polished, painted and thought I knew, performs this magic act of taming the big seas with an assurance that could only come from long experience at sea. Not my experience, because I have never seen such big seas!"

Rear Commodore Robert C. Towse Jr. introduced the authors.

 Tom Jackson at the podium.

L-R, Maynard Bray, Howard Hodgson, a member of the NYYC's Fine Arts Committee, and Sam Croll, the NYYC's archivist and chair of the Library Committee.
