Presented to Commodore George Nichols by the NYYC as a token of the Club's appreciation of his services as Commodore 1925-1927, and a mark of the members' esteem. This George III Silver 2-Handled Oval Dessert Bowl, John Parker, London 1802, was returned to the Club by the Nichols family after his death in 1950. In 1983, the Trustees designated this bowl be awarded to the winning team in a series of team races between the New York Yacht Club and the Royal Thames Yacht Club hosted alternately every three years.
