2010 TEAM RACING PROGRAM
|
|
NYYC's 2010 Team Racing season is shaping up to be a terrific one with a solid schedule of 'home' events and a very busy 'away' calendar. NEW this year will be a 'Grandmasters' regatta where wily veterans can show their stuff. We will also be headed back to the BVIs for our Bitter End Invitational. As always, our program is aimed at the full range of our membership: young members to masters, novice to expert. Please feel free to contact Beth in the Sailing Office if you are interested in learning more about the program.

Team Racing Kick-Off Weekend - May 22-23
Team racing experience is NOT required! This weekend is targeted at sailors with all levels of experience to come learn the basics of team racing or to sharpen skills, both in the classroom and on the water in the Club's fleet of Sonars. In addition, we will invite some of the Summer Solstice sailors from other clubs to participate and give everyone a taste of competition.
NYYC's top team racers and teachers will be sharing their talents with participants and cover rules, tactics, boathandling tips and hands-on racing. And, of course, there is a fun social schedule throughout the weekend. Whether you know a lot or a little about team racing, this will be a great event to attend, so be sure to put this exciting weekend on your schedule!

Regular Season Team Racing
There is something for everyone, casual and intense, home and away. Home events are run in our fleet of thirteen Sonars at Harbour Court. This year we will send teams to two events in New Orleans, and one each St. Petersburg YC in Florida, and Newport Harbor YC in California, as well as many away events in the northeast. We will work to get everyone who signs up a spot in at least one of the events during the season.

Team NYYC Volunteers
This program is designed for the member who wants a casual introduction to the way the Club works. Whether for a weekend or a day, we can always use your help and it is a fun way to learn about the sport and the greatest Club in the world. |
