The Golden Spinnaker Regatta and Gala, hosted by the Sailing Foundation of New York and held at the NYYC Harbour Court, will benefit the athletes of the US Sailing Team AlphaGraphics. The proceeds will be used to provide athlete grants and to support key initiatives to help prepare the team for success at the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The event will include an evening Gala featuring cocktails, demonstrations of some Olympic class boats rigged on the lawn, silent and live auctions, and a dinner program with the athletes. Gary Jobson, President of U.S. Sailing and Master of Ceremonies, will conduct an interactive question and answer period with the U.S. Sailing Team athletes.
Those who purchase a gold, silver or bronze table are entitled to race in a regatta to be held during the day of the Gala with a member of the US Sailing Team AlphaGraphics on their boat. The table owner may provide three crew, including a helmsman, for a total of four sailors per boat. US Sailing Team members will be assigned to boats based on the total donation per table, i.e. the highest donation is assigned the highest ranked Team member. The regatta will be held in the NYYC Sonars.
