Special Note re: CRF Rating Adjustment

In an effort to continually improve the accuracy and reliability of the CRF rating system for classic yachts, the CRF Technical Committee meets annually to review and update elements of the rule. This year, there has been a new adjustment to the NON-Spinnaker ratings. (January, 2011)

“The calculation of headsails which were previously rated, and limited to, 150%, will now be rated, for those requesting, at actual LP%, allowing larger (or smaller) headsails to be used up to the yacht’s greatest rated LP%”.

Details:
This is optional, and nothing is required from current CRF rated yachts unless they choose to apply for a new LP rating. (If yacht’s greatest headsail differs from 150% LP)

All current non-spin CRF ratings with their 150%LP calculation, along with the headsail limit of 150%, will remain for all yachts that have not applied for a revised LP rating.

Scoring calculation
0.6 x 3600 x (1/sq root of boat 1 - 1/sq root boat 2 ) = delta in sec/mile between boat 1 and boat 2
