HC: Spring Fling & Dinner
Friday - Sunday, March 19th to 21st
Saturday Spring Fling activities will begin at 1300 with a Rum and Revolution Tour, given by the Newport Historical Society. From colonial taverns to Prohibition, this interactive walking tour will provide an entertaining & informative history of alcohol and social habits. Through jovial, authentic history-telling, learn about the changing role of alcohol in our culture.
This one and a half hour walking tour begins in Washington Sq. (near Banana Republic) and covers everything from the rum and the slave trade (rum as currency) through prohibition, and continue to the Point. There is a $10 per person tour fee to be paid to the guide at the beginning of the tour.
The Spring Fling will continue with a wonderful evening in the Main House at Harbour Court with cocktails at 1830, followed by dinner at 1930. All over night rooms are a very attractive $99 per night, plus local taxes, for all those staying over the weekend.
