L-R, Invictus, the challenger from Great Britain, Patient Lady VI, from France, Canaan, the
Canadian defender that won Race 3, and Alpha, the Australian challenger that won two of three
races on the first day.

Alpha -- with Australians Glenn Ashby and James Spithill, to weather -- and Canaan --
with Canadians Fred Eaton and Magnus Clarke.

Eaton, winner of the International C-Class Catamaran Trophy in 2007,  at the helm and Clarke to leeward.

Orion, sailed by a Canadian team of Dan Cunningham and Rob Paterson, broke a chainplate and
dropped her wing.

Driving is Glenn Ashby -- an Olympic Silver Medalist in the Tornado Class in 2008 in China and nine-time A-Class world champion; James Spithill, at the wing, was helmsman on BMW Oracle’s wing-sailed trimaran that won the recent 33rd America’s Cup.

A picture worth thousands of words. Steve Clark embraces his nephew and crew Oliver Moore
after their wing was destroyed and the boat flipped minutes into the first race.
