2010 NYYC CLASSIC YACHT SERIES
for Vintage and Classic Yachts
 
 
GENERAL FORMAT
The New York Yacht Club Invitational Racing Series for Vintage and Classic Yachts (Classic Yacht Series)is open to all qualified yachts.
ELIGIBILITY

Racing will be offered for vintage and classic yachts that meet NYYC enrollment criteria, built or designed prior to 1967 made of wood or steel using traditional building methods and rigged with only aluminum or wooden spars.

 

Only cross-cut designed (except spinnakers), woven fabric sails are permitted. Canvas, Nylon, Dacron as well as more contemporary woven fabrics such as Vectran, Hydranet, etc.. are permitted. Sails of radial design (other than spinnakers) or those utilizing advanced shaping technologies (3DL or similar) are not permitted. 

 

Sails made using laminate or composite construction or materials (such as, but not limited to, Mylar, Kevlar, Spectra, and Carbon Fiber, etc.), are not permitted.

 

All yachts must maintain a valid CRF Rating Certificate.
